Mala

Mala in Sanskrit means "garland" referring to a string of beads traditionally used in Eastern Religions to aid in the practice of meditation. They are used as counting beads in the recital of a given mantra such as "Om" repeatedly at the turn of each bead. This chanting in meditation is believed to bring about peace or other intended outcome regarding spirituality.
